In total, there were four Xbox Game Pass games spotted during Summer Game Fest. Three of them came out of Summer Game Fest with solid release dates, but it’s less clear when fans will get to check out one of them. Three of the four Xbox Game Pass games announced at Summer Game Fest are slated to be available this year, so subscribers should still have plenty to look forward to regardless.

First up is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, which is scheduled to launch on Thursday, June 16. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is a beat ’em up throwback that harkens back to the glory days of TMNT games. Its June 16 release date was revealed at Summer Game Fest in a new trailer that also highlighted some of the game’s other big features, like 6-player co-op and longtime Turtle ally Casey Jones being one of the playable characters. The art style and story are pulled straight from the classic 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon, so TMNT fans should be very excited for Shredder’s Revenge hit Xbox Game Pass come June 16.

Xbox Game Pass Summer Game Fest Games List

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge - June 16 Midnight Fight Express - August 23 Humankind - November 4 Routine - TBA

A couple of months after Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge joins the Xbox Game Pass lineup on June 16, subscribers have another day one game to look forward to in the form of Midnight Fight Express. Midnight Fight Express was one of many indie games shown off during Summer Game Fest, but it managed to stand out from the pack. Midnight Fight Express is an over-the-top action game with stylish graphics and blood-pumping combat. Impressively, Midnight Fight Express has primarily been developed by one person, which makes it that much more impressive. Xbox Game Pass subscribers looking for a new action-oriented game to play will have the chance to check out Midnight Fight Express when it comes to Xbox Game Pass as a day one game on August 23.

The third Xbox Game Pass game highlighted at Summer Game Fest will be joining the lineup near the end of the year, on November 4. Humankind is turn-based strategy game that’s often been compared to the Civilization series. It’s technically been available for PC Game Pass since it originally launched last year, but it will be making its Xbox debut as a Game Pass game, making it a day one title twice over. While those with a PC Game Pass have been able to play it for a while, console gamers will get to see what the fuss is about soon enough.

And finally, the fourth game revealed for Xbox Game Pass at Summer Game Fest doesn’t have a release date. It’s a spooky sci-fi horror game called Routine that was first revealed years ago, but is now enjoying a re-debut of sorts. Not a lot is known about Routine at this juncture, but the game does feature a violent robot of some kind that seems to stalk the player. Routine may be without a release date, but whenever it does join Game Pass, it should be a big “get” for horror enthusiasts.

The Xbox Game Pass reveals at Summer Game Fest give fans a much better idea of what they can expect from the service not only in the months ahead, but when it comes to the new Xbox Game Pass games for June 2022. The way Microsoft reveals the new Xbox Game Pass games is in two batches, and so the company has yet to fully reveal all the new Xbox Game Pass games dropping in the second half of the month. But thanks to Summer Game Fest, we now know that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge will be a part of the lineup.

TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge joins two other games that were previously announced for Xbox Game Pass. On June 21, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can check out all three games that make up Shadowrun Trilogy (Shadowrun Returns, Shadowrun Dragonfall - Director’s Cut, and Shadowrun Hong Kong - Extended Edition), while June 28 is bringing with it Escape Academy, a cooperative escape room video game.

Even more games are likely to join Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, Shadowrun Trilogy, and Escape Academy in the second half of June 2022, but Xbox Game Pass subscribers will have to wait for Microsoft to reveal more information on that front. It’s possible Microsoft will pull the curtain back on the rest of the June 2022 Game Pass lineup during the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase on June 12, but it’s also possible fans will have to wait until later this week to find out more.
